Doll Face Desserts – Anaheim

Ever eat something that just takes you back to your childhood? I had that moment today as I was eating two of Doll Face Dessert’s special treats: a Peanut Butter Mud Puddle and a Chocolate Mud Puddle. Now I’m not going to lie. I am a superficial eater, especially when it comes to dessert. To some people, presentation has no effect on them. To me it means everything. With that being said, at first glance the Doll Face Dessert booth at the Downtown Anaheim Farmers Market was no different than the rest. Just another booth, I thought. But there was something attractive about the simplicity of the booth that allowed the desserts to shine.

After approaching the booth, I learned that this company makes their sales primarily online and at farmers markets in Orange County. The exclusivity of finding these desserts makes them that much more appealing.

Now I can assure you that after having one of these scrumptious treats, you’ll be yearning to get your hands on more. I found the Chocolate Mud Puddle was baked perfectly, with the edges crisp and the center so gooey and moist that it just melted in my mouth. There was just the right amount of walnuts to compliment the rich chocolate flavor.  A puddle of chocolate ganache was spread lightly in the center of it, just to tease the taste buds even more. And just when I thought things could not get any better, I was wrong. The Peanut Butter Mud Puddle was exceptional. I must admit that I am partial to chocolate chip cookies.  But the combination of peanut butter and chocolate ganache in this sweet treat had me thinking twice about that notion. Like its Chocolate Mud Puddle partner, the Peanut Butter Mud Puddle was baked perfectly with a moist center and crisp edges.

As I shared these treats with an old friend I found myself reminiscing about the past and the evenings I would share with my mother baking cookies together and filling our home with the sweet smell and lots of laughter. So if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on one of Doll Face Desserts delicious treats, I encourage you to share it with a friend, a sibling or a loved one and don’t forget to pour yourself a glass of milk!
